News from NSAMPUC, Mangaluru | Motor Cycle Safety Month

A program on the occasion of World Motor Cycle Safety Month was jointly organized by the Department of Public Health, KSHEMA and the NSS Unit of Dr. NSAM PU College, Mangaluru at the college premises on 27th June 2022.

The program was coordinated by Mr. Mackwin D'mello, HoD, Public Health and Mr. Prajwal Lobo, Asst. Professor, KSHEMA.

Mr. Prajwal Lobo spoke on how to increase driver’s awareness of motorcyclists on road and gave some tips to improve riding skills. Mr. Shawn Fernandes, Administrator, United Bikers, Mangaluru shared tips on general riding safety. He conducted a Quiz and some activities for students to improve their knowledge on road safety. He urged the students to follow the slogan “Leave early, ride slowly, reach safely”. Other motorcyclists & members of United Bikers, Mangaluru - Mr. John D'Silva, Mr. Girish PV & Mr. Royston shared their experiences in motorcycling and general safety.

Principal Dr. Naveen Shetty in his presidential address said that riding a motorcycle gives great joy but the rider should focus on safety and follow the rules of the road. He further said that such awareness programs help one to refresh their knowledge on riding skills and prevent serious accidents.

All the students and staff members attended the program.
