The Youth Red Cross Unit of NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences celebrated World Heart Day on 29th September 2022. A guest lecture on the topic “World Heart Day and Paradigm shift in Heart Failure Therapy” by Dr. Dilip Johny, Sr. Lecturer, Dept. of Cardiology, K S Hegde Medical Academy, Mangalore was organised.
Prof. Dr. CS Shastry, Principal welcomed the gathering and introduced the guest. In his welcome speech, Prof. Shastry expressed his concern about the increasing rate of deaths due to heart disease in the last few years and advised students to develop healthy habits and keep the heart healthy.
Dr. Dilip Johny in his lecture explained the theme “Use Heart for Every Heart” proposed by WHO for World Heart Day 2022. He explained the changes in therapeutic regimen to prevent heart failure and advised the gathering to be cautious and alert about their health.
Ms. Sheavon, III PharmD proposed the vote of thanks and Ms. Nivedhi Shetty, II PharmD compered the program.
