News from NUCSER | Gratitude Meet

North East students of Nitte (Deemed to be University) had a Gratitude Meet on 5th November 2022 in Trimshathi Bhavan, ABSMIDS, in the presence of Shri PB Acharya the former Governor of Nagaland. 

Dr. Anirban Chakraborty, Director, NUCESR welcomed the gathering and briefed the chronology of NAMASTE and its activities. Shri PB Acharya interacted with the students and shared his experiences of North-East India and asked the students to be grateful to the University for the Scholarship provided for the NE meritorious students where 100% fee is waived. He also motivated the students on how to respect and adjust to the new culture, the people, and the food. He stressed the importance of giving it back to the nation for its growth and development. He also asked the students to go back to Northeast India after the completion of their education and serve the people for at least one year. Dr. Harsha Halahalli, Registrar, Nitte (DU) in his presidential remarks, mentioned the importance of student diversity in the campus and addressed the students to share their experiences, opinions on further improvement of the admission process of NAMASTE scheme. 

Further, Shri. PB Acharya requested the university to organise dental camp in the remote places of North east India and to have Northeast day in NitteDU campus. 

During the interaction, students shared their experience in getting NAMASTE seats and also thanked the Former Governor of Nagaland Shri PB Acharya for his efforts in establishing connection between Nitte University and Northeast people. Words of gratitude were delivered by Mr. Temjenyapang Longchar an intern in Physiotherapy.The program was coordinated by the NAMASTE center of the University in-charge by Dr. Gunimala and Ms. Kaini Cecilia. Mr.Vaman Shenoy, in-charge of INFC- Mangalore and 36 NE students were present to witness the inspirational program.
