The Department of Oral Medicine & Radiology conducted the 11th batch of the 4-day Certificate course on “Cone Beam Computed Tomography” from 7th to 10th February 2023. Dr. Ananya Madiyal, Lecturer, Dept. of OMR was the Course Coordinator.
The four-day extensive hands-on course included the applications of CBCT in various aspects of head and neck imaging in multi-planar dimensions in various specialties of Dentistry, including Oral Implantology, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Endodontics, Periodontics, Diagnosis of TMJ disorders, artefacts in CBCT images, as well as medico-legal considerations relating to the use of CBCT.
Prof. (Dr) U Raghuraj, Head, Dept. of Radiodiagnosis, KS Hegde Medical Academy was the external faculty for the course. The other course faculty included Prof. (Dr) G Subhas Babu, Prof. (Dr) Vidya Ajila, Dr. Shruthi Hegde, Dr. Renita Castelino, Dr. Kumuda Rao, Dr. Supriya Bhat, Dr. Sonika Achalli and Dr. Ananya Madiyal from the Dept. of OMR.
17 delegates comprising of two external faculty from Sri Ramakrishna Dental College and Hospital, Coimbatore as well as PG students & Interns from ABSMIDS participated in the course. The 8 practical hands-on sessions and reporting exercises as well as the demonstration of the working & technical aspects of the CBCT machine benefitted the participants.
