The Department of Public Health Dentistry, AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, in association with Shofu Dental India Pvt. Ltd, conducted a lecture followed by a Hands-on workshop on “Glass Ionomer Cements” at Trimshathi Bhavan, on 1st February 2023.
Prof. (Dr.) Audrey D’Cruz, Head, Dept. of Public Health Dentistry, welcomed the gathering. Dr Thara Chandran, Lecturer introduced the resource person, Dr Arkaprava Saha, Key Opinion Leader, Shofu Dental India Pvt. Ltd.
Prof. (Dr.) US Krishna Nayak, Principal & Dean, ABSMIDS delivered the presidential address. Mr. Pradip Sengupta, Business Development Manager and Mr. Krishnoji Rao, Institution Manager of Shofu Dental India Pvt. Ltd. also graced the occasion.
The inaugural function was followed by a very informative lecture on “GIC Revolution” by Dr Arkaprava Saha. This was followed by a hands-on workshop on Glass Ionomer Cements. The mixing procedures of Type II and Type IX Glass Ionomer Cements were demonstrated by Dr. Saha and the delegates practised the same under his supervision. Dr. Saha also effectively addressed the Question and Answer session.
The program coordinator Dr Shilpa M, Lecturer, delivered the vote of thanks. Dr Sahana Maben, Tutor & Clinical Coordinator was the master of ceremony. A total of 40 participants attended the lecture and the hands-on workshop.
