The Research Cell of Nitte Institute of Communication organized a one-day Workshop on "Statistics for Media Research" on 20th January 2023, for the students of final BA and MA.
The objectives of the workshop were to understand the statistical software and get a basic idea of statistics. Resource person, Reshma Kolar, Lecturer in the
Department of Bio-Statistics, K S Hegde Medical Academy, introduced students to the basics of statistics.
The workshop was for students writing dissertations and conducting minor research projects. Students were given sample data sheets and taught how to code, enter, filter and clean data. Students were also introduced to generating values, hypothesis testing and interpreting results.
A total of 30 students participated in the workshop.
