A guest lecture on “Discovery and Validation of Actionable Molecules for Pharmaceutical Research” was organized by the Department of Pharmacology, NGSMIPS on 9th November 2022 at the Seminar Hall.
Prof. (Dr) TS Keshava Prasad, Dy. Director, Center for Systems Biology & Molecular Medicine, Yenepoya Research Centre was the resource person. Dr. Prasad dealt with various concepts - Actionable molecules in Cancer, Biomarkers, Therapeutic targets, Molecular mechanisms, OMICS tools, Mass spectrometry for diagnosis & screening and Metabolomics.
Dr. CS Shastry, Principal welcomed the resource person and gave the opening remarks. Dr. Gururaj, Convener of the program introduced the speaker and Dr. Prasanna Shama Khandige coordinated the event. Ms. Rupal and Ms. Valentina anchored the program and Ms. Nidhi proposed the vote of thanks.
103 members including postgraduates & faculty members participated in the program. Students were enriched by the experience and insights shared by Dr. Keshava Prasad. The lecture session provided the direction to discuss and explore further on the topics related to molecular docking. Students were actively involved in the Question & Answer session.
