An online guest lecture on the topic “Progress of Oral Metronomic Chemotherapy in the Treatment of Cancer" was organized by the Dept. of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, NGSMIPS on 26th November 2022. Dr. Ronald Fernandes, HoD introduced the speaker Dr. Saurav Jha, R&D Manager, Curex Pharmaceutical Private Limited, Nepal. Dr. Abhishek Kumar, Asst. Professor welcomed the participants.
The subject of the talk was the examination and compromised creation of oral docetaxel and etoposide formulations for the treatment of cancer. Due to a number of shortcomings in conventional chemotherapy, Dr. Saurav concentrated on finding a way to deliver the right dosage of medication to the area of action. As a result, he concentrated on the frequent administration of low dose anti-cancer medications (metronomic chemotherapy) and presented the findings from his research.
The talk was attended by BPharm, MPharm, PhD students and faculty members. At the end of the talk, the speaker lucidly answered the queries raised by participants and cleared many doubts. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Pankaj Kumar, Coordinator, Guest Lecture Committee.
