Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences conducted the Lamp lighting and Oath-taking ceremonies for BSc & GNM students and the newly elected SNA office bearers on 23rd September 2023 at Avishkar Hall.
The students from II BSc Nursing & II GNM highlighted the significance of the ceremony to nursing students by enacting the role-play of the journey of the pioneer in the nursing world - Florence Nightingale.
The oath is an important ceremonial gesture signifying the official start of one’s profession. This formal event involved the students pledging to uphold certain responsibilities and duties during their service. The Chief Guest Rev. Sr. Deepa Peter, Principal, Athena College of Nursing, Mangalore addressed the students and mentioned that without nursing care hospitals cannot run. The nursing profession is the noblest among all professions and nurses should carry out their responsibilities with love, affection and patience.
Prof Dr Fatima Dsilva, Principal, NUINS presided over the program. She congratulated the students for making the right choice of profession and wished them a bright future.
A total of 425 (Students 400 & Faculty 25) attended the program.
