Scope Of B.Tech Graduates In The Current Indian Economy!

In 2022, the Indian tech and engineering industry has a lot going for it. Despite the disruption created by the Covid-19 outbreak, the resilience demonstrated by both significant technology enterprises and startups has made India one of the most robust digital marketplaces.

Covid-19 has wreaked havoc on the work market. To become a successful engineer, you must first understand which talents are now in high demand and which industry sectors are expanding. The globe has been seeing a health disaster with troubling ramifications since the beginning of 2020.

Current Scenario Of Engineering & Technology Field And It Advances
Although the IT industry is still the top recruiter and will remain so post-Covid, the positions available in this area will either be reduced or re-engineered to meet the new set-up.

Automation will be an essential component since it is cost-effective and does not suffer while working from home. Automation focusing on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Sciences, and the Internet of Things (IoT) will be the rulers in education, healthcare, manufacturing, and construction sectors.

The convergence of cyber-physical systems, the Internet of Things, and the Internet of Systems have made Industry 4.0 a reality. Sectors that have already gained or are preparing to acquire end-to-end process digitisation will be at the forefront of recruiting. These industries require engineers with advanced programming abilities, among other critical skills.

Skills B.Tech Students Will Require in 2022
As industries focus on rebuilding their viewpoint, work experience, scope, and manner of recruiting, students must also be mentally alert and level up their talents swiftly Therefore, students' skill sets for their technical know-how should include good written, verbal, aptitude, and attitude communication. In addition, creative thinking, design techniques, and problem-solving abilities will always be in demand.

When looking at the underlying abilities indicated in job advertisements, data from all countries studied, shows a significant increase in demand for transversal talents, such as "communication skills" or "teamwork," among the topmost often advertised positions in the market.

Given the current developments in virtual recruiting, these talents would be increasingly in demand. However, to provide new solutions to the way forward, the whole engineering and technology community will have to let go of the usual perspective and think outside the box while developing skills for the modern industry.

Here are a few critical skills that B.Tech students need to develop:
  • Leadership Don't think that only managers should be able to lead. Having strong leadership qualities is more than just being able to supervise or manage people. Instead, it is about sharing your strategy and goal while motivating others and accepting input from colleagues and superiors. In addition, being self-aware and holding yourself accountable is especially vital during difficult circumstances.
  • Adaptability We've all grown used to being flexible and adaptive during the previous few months. However, it is an essential talent that any employer would look for. While flexibility in the workplace was historically associated with geographic mobility, it is today associated with having an open mentality, performing well under pressure, responding to new and unexpected deadlines, prioritising tasks, and, in some instances, taking on more duties.
  • Innovation and creativity Creativity is not only connected with traditionally creative occupations; it is required in every business and sector. The business landscape will need to grow and adapt quickly in the future years. For example, anybody desiring to work in the industry will need to tap into their creative minds to lead a firm through the obstacles and possibilities.

Campus Life As An Engineering Student - A Brief Look!

College is a life-changing experience. On a college campus, students get an opportunity to meet and engage with a diverse group of people. In addition, people from all over the world will attend a good college or university, exposing them to different cultures and ideas. Any educational institute's campus should not be confined to classrooms and academic lecture sessions. In a campus education, a student learns far more than the contents of a book. Therefore, a college campus' infrastructure must include buildings, equipment, and technology associated with modern education and overall development. The campus is one of the few places in a student's life where students have complete freedom to chart their course to success. NMAM Institute of Technology's campus, for example, is home to various factors that improve its students' life.

Campus Life At NMAM Institute Of Technology
  • The Classroom Life: The most crucial aspect of any campus life is the classroom environment and everything that is taught in it. At NMAMIT, students are taught by industry and academia professionals to help them understand the concepts thoroughly. However, it is never a one-way interaction. Students are encouraged to engage with the class and provide their input whenever possible. It helps students retain the subject matter better and create a more profound interest in education
  • Life Beyond the Walls: Besides the classroom, NMAMIT organises various seminars, presentations and industrial visits for the students. It helps them understand the industry from beyond the pages of the books. Professionals and leaders of the industry lead these seminars and presentations. Their outlook on the subject and their success stories help students better realise what they need to be successful. The industry visits give them a real-time view of their dream job. The combination of these activities is essential for any student to succeed
  • Cultural Events: The campus life at NMAMIT is not all about learning about the subject matter. The cultural and sporting events organised on campus allow students to engage in a passion beyond the curriculum. It provides a relaxed atmosphere which helps them later focus on their learning. These activities help students develop their personalities and prepare for a successful career. Students who engage in organising these activities can also focus on their soft skills. Since activities like these are held every year, it helps students work on their personalities
  • Networking Through Clubs & Societies: Students gain information, skills, and experience in leadership, communication, problem-solving, finance, presentation, and public speaking by participating in a club or society. Grey Matter, Authorcraft, IEEE Student Branch, Computer Society of India (CSI), The Institution of Engineers (India) and CMSI – Condition Monitoring Society of India are just a few examples of clubs and societies students can engage with on campus. Participating in these clubs and societies not only helps students develop their talents but also allows them to interact with others who share their viewpoint. It aids students in their networking efforts
  • Internships: Another part of campus life is internships. Internships are extremely important in defining one's career. It not only helps students and graduates to gain real-world work experience, but it also allows them to develop the necessary skills to stand out in a competitive job market. Students can apply the knowledge gained from internships to their academics for a better, more profound understanding of the concepts. It acts as a temporary testing ground for students' skills, knowledge and abilities, helping hone them for their future careers

Why Choose NMAMIT For Your Dream Career

News from NICO | A Field Visit to Hasta Shilpa Kala Village and Unit - 5 of Manipal Technology Limited

In a remarkable journey back in time, the second and third-year students from Nitte Institute of Communication visited Hasta Shilpa Kala Village on Saturday, October 28 2023. The third-year students visited this wonderful village with their juniors and instructors as part of their Arts and Culture Communication course. This outdoor museum in Manipal, Karnataka, is more than simply a museum; it's a fascinating representation of local history and culture.

Hasta Shilpa Kala Village is a singular example of India's architectural wonders, history, and cultural legacy. Walking through the village of Hasta Shilpa Kala feels like entering a time capsule. The founder's intense enthusiasm and interest in architecture and history gave rise to this remarkable institution. Originating from Udupi, Mr. Vijayanath Shenoy set out to construct his own home using traditional architectural methods. This endeavor involved gathering building materials and designs from neighboring family homes. The large collection of objects that adorn the village is proof of his dedication to maintaining history and culture.

With more than eighteen antique houses, Hasta Shilpa Kala Village is situated on a large 6-acre plot of land that is leased from the Karnataka government. Over 80% of these homes have been meticulously restored after being carefully moved. In order to help students follow a particular path, the houses were also numbered, allowing them to visit each one independently. Every house is beautiful in its own right, with certain parts having the feel of wonderful mazes. A variety of artifacts, including vehicles that might have been used by royalty or the upper caste, are also available for visitors to admire. These vehicles, which bear witness to the majesty of the day, require four people to operate.

The diversity of India's faiths and cultures is beautifully reflected in the layout and architecture of the houses at Hasta Shilpa Kala Village. From the layout of the houses, you can observe the influence of different faiths. For instance, the Muslim house is a two-storey marvel with all the amenities of a traditional household. In contrast, the Christian house has a sleek, modern appearance with a few wall inscriptions.

The man responsible for this magnificent preservation effort, Vijayanath Shenoy, initiated the restoration of 17 ancestral homes from Karnataka, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh. These houses reflect Karnataka-style architecture and are adorned with priceless artefacts and collections from bygone eras. The students had a deep appreciation for our history as they bid farewell to this beautiful village after touring all 24 houses.

In the afternoon, students had the opportunity to visit Unit - 5 of Manipal Technology Limited, where bulk printing takes place. Students were introduced to bulk printing be it a calendar or an Oxford University publication. Dr. Tapaswi HM, Assistant Professor, NICO, Dr. Sujata, Librarian and Mr. Sriram accompanied students on this visit.
