News from NUCSER | Celebration of “Aikya” and “Yuva Saptaha”

NUCSER conducted its annual cultural event "AIKYA" - a unique program to celebrate cultural diversity and youth engagement, on 13th January 2024 at the University Auditorium, Paneer campus. The event showcased a variety of cultural activities representing Deepavali, Eid, Christmas and Karnataka Rajyotsava, reflecting the rich tapestry of traditions present in our society. The diverse array of artistic expressions added a festive and joyous atmosphere to the event which was also a celebration of Yuva Saptaha on the occasion of National Youth Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

The ceremony commenced with a formal inauguration and invocation by the students, setting the tone for the vibrant and inclusive festivities. The students' active participation in this ritual symbolized the essence of unity and cultural harmony.

Dr. Smitha Hegde, Dy. Director, NUCSER, extended a warm welcome to the attendees and emphasized the significance of cultural exchange and mutual respect for diverse traditions. The chief guest Dr. Siddharth M Shetty, Professor, Dept. of Orthopaedics, KSHEMA lauded the initiative taken by NUCSER for representing unity in diversity, highlighting the importance of cultural understanding and appreciation. Dr. Anirban Chakraborty, Director, NUCSER delivered the presidential address, elucidating the crucial role and duty of the youth in the contemporary period. Mrs. Danica Pereira, President, Student Council expressed gratitude to all participants, organizers and sponsors.

Spot games were organized, providing both students and teachers an opportunity to engage in recreational activities. One of the highlights of "AIKYA" was the vibrant stalls set up outside the auditorium by enthusiastic students. These stalls offered a delectable assortment of foods, including chaats, juices, pizzas and desserts. Students showcased their creativity through design stalls featuring mehndi art and dream catchers, adding an artistic touch to the overall experience.

The event was a grand success with over 300 participants.
