NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte witnessed a vibrant Women’s Day celebration in the campus on March 7th, 2024. Dr. K. Vidyakumari I.A.S, Dy. Commissioner & District Magistrate, Udupi, adorned the event as the Chief Guest, adding prestige and inspiration to the occasion. In her inaugural address, she stressed the importance of education in empowering the women community. She suggested that everyone should have a goal in life which will help in attaining success.
Dr. Gopal Mugeraya, Vice President (Technical Education), Nitte University presided over the ceremony and wished the program every success. Dr. Niranjan N Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAM Institute of Technology, enlightened the audience about the inception and remarkable growth of the Nitte Group. Prof. A Yogeesh Hegde, Director (Campus Maintenance & Development) emphasized the significance of Women's Day celebration, highlighting the importance of gender equality and empowerment.
Dr. Veenadevi Shastrimath, Chief Warden (Ladies Hostel) and Coordinator of Women's Day 2024, welcomed the gathering. Dr. Ashwini B, HoD, ISE introduced the Chief Guest. The event commenced with an invocation song, by faculty members from the Dept. of ECE - Dr. Padmavathi, Dr. Shrividya, and Dr. Vidya Kudva.
Dr. Mamatha Girish, Assoc.Professor, Dept. of ECE delivered the vote of thanks. Ms. Shwetha Bharath, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Humanities was the master of ceremony.
Following the formal program, an engaging workshop on Belly Dance, in collaboration with Azaya Dance Academy from Bengaluru, was conducted. Additionally, various cultural programs were organized in the afternoon, fostering a spirit of joy and celebration.
A total of 350 staff and students witnessed the formal program.
