News from ABSMIDS | Guest lecture on “Communication for Better Patient management’’

The Dept. of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry, ABSMIDS organised a guest lecture by Dr. Sunil S Chiplunkar, Vice President, Business Development, Group Pharmaceuticals Ltd. on “Communication for Better Patient Management” on 18th April 2024 at Manana Hall, ABSMIDS. The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries followed by a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Manju R, HoD. Vice-Principal Prof. (Dr.) Mithra N Hegde, addressed the gathering. Dr. Ananthu H introduced the resource person.

Dr. Sunil in his lecture, explained the essential components of patient-centred communication, importance of body language and integrating verbal & non-verbal skills for effective communication, the role of professional attire and setting a standard of excellence within the dental practice. The lecture also included fun activities for better understanding. The participants were final year undergraduates and first year postgraduates.
