NUCSER celebrated its 7th Annual Day on 28th March 2024 at K S Hegde Auditorium. Prof. Harsha Halahalli, Registrar, Nitte (DU), presided over the function. Dr. Manesh Thomas, Chief Executive Officer, Manipal GoK Bioincubator, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, graced the occasion as Chief guest. The formal event started with the welcome address by Prof. Smitha Hegde, Dy. Director, NUCSER, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries led by the Director of the institute, Prof. Dr. Anirban Chakraborty.
The Annual Report, highlighting the achievements of the institute was read out by Dr. Ramya Harsha, IQAC Coordinator, NUCSER. On this occasion, the college magazine, ANVESHAN 2024, was unveiled by the dignitaries, and a brief insight into its making was presented by Dr. Krishna Kumar B, Staff Editor. The Academic Committee In-charge, Dr. Biswajit Maiti, announced the names of student academic achievers who received certificates of appreciation. The Best Paper Award was bagged by Ms. Masmarika Mohan, for her paper on Microplastics, published in Chemosphere. As a part of tradition, housekeeping staff of NUCSER were also felicitated during the formal program by the guests.
Dr. Manesh Thomas appreciated the vibrant atmosphere of NUCSER and advised students to take up issues that can solve the problems of society through translational research. Dr. Divyashree, Sports in-charge, announced the winners of cultural & sports events.
Dr. Harsha Halahalli, applauded the achievements of NUCSER as the silent star and a role model for the university. Ms. Danica Pereira, President, Student`s Council, concluded the formal function with the vote of thanks. This was followed by a cultural program put up by the students. More than 250 students participated in the celebration.
