News from NMAMIT | Yakshagana performance as a part of the Course Assessment

The 6th semester BE students of NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte who have opted for 3 credit Elective Course ‘Introduction to Yakshagana’ performed ‘Chakravyuha’ yakshagana prasanga on 16th May 2024 as part of their semester Assessment. As per the National Education Policy guidelines, this subject was introduced 2 years ago under the Autonomous scheme of Bachelor of Engineering. A total of 30 students are permitted to register in a semester.

The students are trained in the basics of Yakshagana, Taala, Naatya, Vesha, Dialogue delivery etc. as part of the 40-hour courseby Dr. Janardhan Nayak, Professor, Dept. of Chemistry and a Yakshagana artiste. NMAMIT provides all necessary support for the course rollout and evaluation and is the only Engineering Institute offering this course.
