A Plogging Drive was organised by the NSS unit of Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy on 5th June 2024. The Chief Guest for the event was Dr Prasad B Shetty, Controller of Examinations, Nitte DU and the Guest of Honour was Shri Ramesh Naik, Panchayat Development Officer, Belma Grama Panchayath.
The event began with Prof. Dr Dhanesh Kumar K. U, Principal addressing the gathering. 120 students and the faculty of NIPT actively participated in the social event. The pressing need of keeping our surroundings clean and how our neglect of responsibilities would impact the environment as well as our health, was explained by the Panchayat Development Officer. The efforts of the Institute to instil social responsibility amongst the youth was appreciated by Dr. Prasad B Shetty. More than 40 bags of plastic waste were collected between KSHEMA to Deralakatte Junction, after the massive cleaning drive, ensuring a clean surrounding.
