The Department of Child Health Nursing, NUINS held a mass health education session on "Breastfeeding" on 2nd August 2024 at Shri Kshethra Dharmastala Rural Development Project office, Falnir, Mangaluru, as part of the World Breastfeeding Week Celebrations 2024. Dr. Sharlet Dsouza, Assoc. Professor, Child Health Nursing, delivered a health talk on "Breastfeeding."
Mr. Chandrashekar Bhandary, Zonal Head, British Biological Company spoke on the importance of breastfeeding in today’s modern world and on women's contribution to a child's growth. Dr. Ramila Shekar, Mental Health Counselor discussed the positive impact of breastfeeding on a mother's mental health. Ms. Mamatha N Shetty SKDRDP Project Coordinator briefed about the welfare activities for women under their project and also congratulated Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences for the initiative taken to educate women on breastfeeding.
Dr. Sharlet Dsouza answered questions and provided health education advice on positions, practices, and the value of breastfeeding.
