News from NMIT | Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology shines at 'Eco-Avengers 2025' National Sustainability Competition

Students from Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT), Bengaluru, have made their mark on the national stage, claiming First Place at the prestigious ‘Eco-Avengers 2025’, a National Level Sustainability Pitch Battle organised by MCC and EIMR Business School, Bengaluru on 16th January 2025. This achievement reflects the valuable guidance and mentorship of Dr. L. Harish Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Out of three teams from NMIT that reached the finals, one team emerged as champions, while the other two secured positions in the top 5. The winning team impressed the judges with their innovative sustainability pitch, showcasing ingenuity, teamwork and a commitment to addressing pressing environmental challenges.

The accolades don’t stop here. The victorious team has also earned a spot in an upcoming competition in March 2025, which offers an exciting opportunity to secure Venture Capital funding of up to ₹25 lakhs. This opens the door for their ideas to transcend the classroom and make a tangible impact on sustainability and innovation.
