The Women's Cell of NUINS organized a guest lecture on ‘Laws Concerning Women's Protection & Empowerment’ on 30th December 2024 at the University Auditorium, Paneer campus. The inauguration was followed by a welcome address by Prof. (Dr) Nalini, Women's Cell Coordinator. Guest of honor, Dr. Suma Ballal, Dy. Registrar, Nitte DU emphasized the importance of women's protection and empowerment.
The resource person, Ms. Shailaja Rajesh, Advocate, recipient of the Kittur Rani Chennamma Award and Founder, Vatsalyamayi Women’s Development & Research Organization, Bantwal delivered the guest lecture on the topic and provided a comprehensive overview of the legal frameworks, laws protecting & empowering women. She particularly focused on preventive measures for women's protection while shedding light on specific incidents in Mangalore & Bantwal. She shared real-life examples and personal experiences, adding valuable insights to the topic.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Suviksha Bhandary, Asst. Lecturer, Mental Health Nursing. The event was compered by Ms. Prathima Sherigarthy, Lecturer, Mental Health Nursing. 50 students & 20 faculty members attended the program.
