Dr. Santanu Chattopadhyay, a distinguished GN Ramachandran Fellow from the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB), delivered an engaging guest lecture titled "Oh, Dear Helicobacter, You Are Not Alone Here!" at NUCSER on 3rd February 2025. Drawing from global and Indian studies, Dr. Chattopadhyay highlighted the geographical and genetic diversity of H. pylori strains, their pathogenicity and interactions with the gut microbiome, particularly emphasizing the predominance of Western strains in India. The talk underscored the complexity of H. pylori's role within the microbiome, sparking engaging discussions among attendees. Dr. Praveen Kumar Shetty, Director (R&D), Nitte University and Dr. Anirban Chakraborty, Director of NUCSER were present on this occasion. The event was well-attended by faculty members and research scholars from constituent colleges of Nitte University.
