Oral health awareness was provided by Dr. Sahana Maben, Tutor & Clinical Coordinator, Dept. of Public Health Dentistry, ABSMIDS. The children and general public were educated on the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene, including brushing twice daily with fluoridated toothpaste and following a nutritious diet to support overall health. Emphasis was also placed on the dangers of tobacco use and the need to abstain from such products. Additionally, the resource person demonstrated proper tooth brushing techniques to the students.
A total of 82 participants attended the free oral screening and treatment camp, out of which 24 patients underwent oral prophylaxis, 11 underwent GIC restorations and 1 patient underwent extraction. The other patients were referred to Nitte Meenakshi Hegde Health Centre, Hejamady and AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences for further treatment.
