NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte, a constituent college of Nitte University, organised a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “LEARN - Learning Excellence and Reinventing Nurturing” from 7th to 11th July 2025.
The FDP was inaugurated by Dr. Sandeep Shastri, Vice President, Nitte Bengaluru Campus, who served as the Chief Guest. Prof. (Dr.) Gopal Mugeraya, Vice President (Technical Education), Nitte DU presided over the function. Dr. Shastri highlighted the importance of shifting from traditional teaching methods to student-centered, reflective and experiential learning practices. Dr. Mugeraya emphasized the role of faculty in nurturing innovation and excellence in higher education.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Nagesh Prabhu, Vice Principal and Convenor of the FDP. Dr. Niranjan N. Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT, also addressed the gathering, stressing the importance of continuous professional development for educators. The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Grynal D’Mello, Associate Professor, Mechanical Engineering. Ms. Shwetha Bharath, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Humanities was the master of ceremony.
The FDP is tailored for faculty with less than 15 years of teaching experience. Renowned academicians and professionals from across India, including Dr. Shailaja Shastri, Dr. Rajendra Joshi, Dr. Rajeev Sukumaran, Prof. S. L. Satheesh Kumar, Mr. Muthukumara Swamy and Dr. Mohan S. G will conduct the technical sessions across five days.
