As part of the World Breastfeeding Week 2025, the Child Health Nursing Department, NUINS, in collaboration with the Ophthalmology Department, Justice K S Hegde Charitable Hospital, organized a community outreach program on breastfeeding and an eye screening camp at Durgavahini Mahila Mandal, Kuthar on 6th August 2025.
Former Zilla Panchayat member Ms. Dhanalakshmi Gatti welcomed the audience and
resource persons. Ms. Jeevitha Alva, Assistant Professor, delivered a health talk on
breastfeeding and Prof. Dr. Sujatha R demonstrated burping techniques. Following the stage program, health education was provided and the eye screening camp conducted where 65 people were screened.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Francilla Soniya Dsouza and was compered by Ms. Sheryl G Fernandes.
