MINT 2025 - Maths Integration with New Technology, a teachers-to-teachers workshop was organised on 8th September 2025 at Dr M Ramanna Shetty Memorial English Medium School, Thokur.
Sri N. Vinaya Hegde, President, Nitte Education Trust & Chancellor, Nitte University; Dr R V Sairam, Director Central PA Laboratory for Biofuels, Penn State, Harrisburg and Dr Shobha Rudrabhatla, Chief Scientific Officer & Associate Teaching Professor in Biology at Penn State, Harrisburg; Dr Suryanarayana K, HoD Electrical & Electronics Engineering, NMAMIT, Nitte and Mr Pushparaj Chowta, President, PTA were present on the occasion.
In his presidential address, Sri N V Hegde emphasized the transformative role of technology in education, urging educators to embrace modern tools and methodologies. He called upon teachers to walk in step with the digital age, ensuring that their pedagogical practices meet the dynamic needs of today’s learners.
The workshop was enriched by the thoughtful insights of Dr R V Sairam and Dr Shobha Rudrabhatla, who inspired participants to embrace hands-on, active learning as a cornerstone of modern pedagogy. Their message was clear - to meet the evolving needs of today’s learners, educators must be willing to explore new possibilities and foster dynamic, student-centred classrooms.
Dr Suryanarayana addressed the gathering with a compelling call to move beyond the traditional chalk-and-talk approach. He emphasized the importance of innovation in teaching practices, encouraging educators to adopt methods that spark curiosity and engagement.
47 teachers from 17 CBSE Schools of Dakshina Kannada & Udupi participated in the workshop. Principal, Ms. Shreelatha Rao, welcomed the gathering and Ms. Smitha H M proposed the vote of thanks. The program was anchored by Ms. Siri Udupa.
