News from NUCSER | NUCSER participates in “Emerge 2026”- A beachside start-up festival

The NITTE-GOK Centre of Excellence in Aquamarine Innovation, hosted at NUCSER, participated in EMERGE 2026, the Beachside Startup Festival, held at Tannirbavi Beach, Mangaluru, from 9-11 January 2026.

The COE-AQUAMARIN stall witnessed enthusiastic footfalls throughout the event. The COE team facilitated meaningful engagement through insightful discussions, inspiring interactions and interactive activities. Over the three-day festival, the team engaged with innovators, students, startups and members of the wider community, fostering dialogue and the exchange of ideas on innovation, sustainability and entrepreneurship in the aquamarine sector.

The stall featured a showcase of innovations developed by COE incubatees and student projects, including a prototype oil-spill-cleaning boat and an AI-enabled pearl culture system designed to monitor and maintain critical water quality parameters. A key highlight of the participation was the brainstorming games organized for students, aimed at stimulating entrepreneurial thinking and encouraging idea generation in aquamarine and allied sectors.

COE-AQUAMARIN's participation at EMERGE 2026 significantly strengthened outreach, visibility and stakeholder engagement while reinforcing the Centre’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in the aquamarine sector.
