Nitte Institute of Speech & Hearing (NISH) conducted a Community Awareness Program titled “From Home to School: Empowering Parents and Teachers as Partners in Early Speech Support” on 9th March 2026 at the Block Resource Centre, Puttur, DK.
The session was delivered by subject experts Dr. Deepthi K J, Professor and Dr. Yashomathi, Assoc. Professor, Nitte Institute of Speech and Hearing. The experts highlighted key aspects of early speech & language milestones, warning signs of communication delays and practical strategies that parents & teachers can use to support children both at home and in the classroom.
The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from teachers, parents of children with disabilities and educational stakeholders, who engaged in discussions and clarified their queries about speech & language development in children.
Ms. Swathi, Speech-Language Pathologist, NISH and In-charge of the Block Resource Center, Puttur was felicitated by Ms. Tanuja M and Ms. Seethamma K S, Block Inclusive Education Resource Teachers (BIERT) in appreciation of her committed service at the Center.
