Tobacco-Free Day was organised at M R Punja Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Thokur under the initiative of the Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) and BC Trust (R), Bajpe with the objective of creating awareness among students about the harmful effects of tobacco consumption.
The program was inaugurated by Sri Hari H, Principal, M R Punja ITI and presided over by Smt. Sukalatha Shetty, President, Jana Jagruthi Vedike, Mangaluru. The speakers highlighted the serious health hazards caused by tobacco use and urged students to stay away from tobacco products and become ambassadors of a tobacco-free society.
Sri Yashawanth Kumar, Head Constable, Mulki; Sri Bhuvanabhirama Udupa; Sri Dhananjaya Shettigar; Sri Girish Kumar and Sri Lakshminarayana attended the program.
Staff & students participated enthusiastically in the program and pledged to promote a healthy & tobacco-free lifestyle.
