News from NRAMP | Session on “Exploring the World of WLCOM Software and its Scope in Apparel Industries”

The Department of Apparel Design & Fabrication Technology, NRAM Polytechnic conducted a session on “Exploring the World of WLCOM Software and its Scope in Apparel Industries” for the final-year students on 1st May 2026. The session was delivered as part of the institution’s Alumnus Seminar Series, by Mr. Christon Sharon Ammanna, an alumnus of the department from the 2020-23 batch.

Mr. Ammanna introduced students to the fundamentals of WLCOM Software, highlighting its applications in the apparel & garment manufacturing sector. He explained how the software is utilized for pattern making, grading, marker planning and production management, enabling industries to improve efficiency, accuracy and productivity. The discussion provided students with valuable insights into the growing role of technology in the fashion and apparel domain.

He also shared his professional experiences and discussed the industry expectations for aspiring apparel technologists emphasizing the importance of acquiring software skills alongside technical knowledge to remain competitive in the modern apparel industry. The interactive session helped students understand the current industry trends, career opportunities and the practical relevance of digital tools in apparel production processes.
