As a part of the world Aids Day 2014, on 3rd December 2014 , the Department of Community Medicine K.S. Hegde Medical Academy conducted an awareness programme in Munnur village at Samudaya Bhavana . The function was presided by the Munnuru panchayat president Mr .Abdul Rahiman, Mr.Sudhir Panchayath Development Officer Munnuru Panchayath, Dr N. Udayakiran, HOD, Dept of Community Medicine ,Dr.Sanjay Kini, Assistant Professor, Dept of community Medicine. Inaugural function was held. Dr. Udayakiran and DR.Sanjay kini talked about AIDS prevention methods of transmission to the villagers. A skit was performed by the students of the Nitte Usha Nursing college. Health camp followed by the programmes. Drugs were dispensed. About 150 people participated which included students from KSHEMA villagers school students. Snacks and tea were provided. A poster competition was held as a part of the world Aids Day for MBBS students of KSHEMA .prizes were distributed for the winners. Mr.Santhosh N P, Mr.Ravi, Medico social workers Dept of Community Medicine KSHEMA and all the post graduates participated in the event.
