The Department of Anaesthesiology organized a Invited lecture, "World Anaesthesia Day Celebration" from 16-10-2015 to 16-10-2015 at Seminar Hall K S Hegde Hospital.
Department of Anaesthesiology, K S Hegde Medical Academy conducted “World Anaesthesia Day” celebration on 16th October at seminar hall K S Hegde Hospital. Every year world Anaesthesia day is celebrated for the remembrance of ‘First successful public demonstration of pain less surgery using ether’ by W. T. G Morton at Massachusetts general hospital in Boston on 16th October 1846.
Dr Shantharam Shetty, Pro- chancellor Nitte University was the chief guest and he congratulated the department and the specialty of anaesthesia for their role in the development of modern surgical specialties. Dr M S Moodithaya, registrar Nitte University, Dr P S Praksh vice Dean of KSHEMA, Dr Karuna Rameshkumar Medical Superintendent of K S Hegde Hospital, Dr J P Shetty Registrar of KSHEMA have participated has guests of honour. Dr Raveendra U S professor in department of Anaesthesiology gave a lecture on “pain management - an overview”. Prize distribution for the winners of “Anaesthesia Quiz- Gentleman this is no humbug” conducted for intern doctors was done by the chief guest. The quiz was conducted by Dr Murali Shankar Bhat and Dr Govindraj Bhat. Dr Anand Bangera, HOD Dept of Anaesthesiology welcomed the guests and gave a introduction for the event. Dr Avanish Bhandary proposed the vote of thanks. Dr Rolita Lobo was the anchor for the programme.
