Dr. NSAM PU college celebrated the World Environment Day 2016, on 04-06-2016 at the college premises co-ordinated by Ms. Nanditha along with Eco club and Interact club members. The Function was ignited by invocation song followed by lighting the lamp and speeches by students and guests on Environment day. The chief guest of the day was Mr. Shashidar, Former president of Rotary Bangalore cosmopolitan, and the guest of honour Dr. Meera Krishnappa, Principal of FGC and our principal Mrs. Rajalakshmy KP . The chief guest threw light in his speech on the day to day activities which can be practised by everyone for the betterment of the environment and for the future generations by giving some instances like, we can switch off the fans and lights, and close water taps, when they are not in use. The guests of honour also focused in her speech on the importance of oxygen which is gifted by Nature. So, being a responsible citizen we need to plant as many as possible to get back our green city and pollution-free oxygen.
The function followed by the Interact cum Eco club activity: Segregation of waste and preparation of manure where Mr. Shashidar demonstrated the process of segregation of waste and preparation of manure. All the students and faculty members engrossed in the activity with full enthusiasm. The function concluded by honoring the representatives of Interact club followed by Vote of thanks by Deepa from II commerce B.
