An interactive Workshop on ‘Enhancing Employment Quotient’ was conducted by Ms Shalini K Sharma, Professor and Head, Counselling, Welfare, Training & Placement of NMAM Institute of Technology for the students of Nitte Institute of Communication (NICO), on Tuesday, 21st March. The Workshop was conducted by the Placement Cell of NICO.
The program aimed at helping students prepare themselves to be a part of the work force, on completion of their studies. Students were given a Self- Assessment questionnaire that would help them better understand themselves and also learn to face similar questions at an interview.
The Workshop was aimed at preparing students to be physically and mentally prepared for the next big step after college, a career of their choice. Having several years of experience as Head of Placements at NMAMIT, she shared these experiences with the students of NICO and explained to them the qualities an employer looks for, when selecting a candidate. She also stressed upon the values one needs to imbibe in order to lead fulfilling lives.
She got students involved with puzzles and stories that would not only help them in their interviews but in life as well. There was a question and answer session after every segment to clear students' doubts and hear their feedback.
A fruitful and interesting Workshop, from which each student could take something home.
