The Sexual Harassment & Prevention Cell and Women & Child Welfare Development Cell of NRAM Polytechnic, Nitte organized an informative talk on “Women Safety and Women Empowerment” on 31st March 2026 to create awareness about safety, respect and gender equality among students.

The session was delivered by Ms. Shree Mudradi, Kannada Lecturer at Dr. NSAM PU College, Nitte. The resource person elaborated on the provisions of the POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Act and its relevance in educational institutions. She explained the importance of understanding appropriate behavior, respecting personal boundaries and the procedures available for addressing grievances. Emphasis was laid on adopting preventive measures and creating a safe and supportive environment within the campus. She highlighted that safety and responsibility are not limited to women alone, but apply equally to men. She advised students to be aware, respectful and proactive in ensuring a secure and inclusive atmosphere. The session concluded with active participation from students.
