The Department of Public Health Dentistry, A. B. Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Mangalore in association with Nitte Gajria Speciality Hospital, Karkala conducted a free Dental screening camp at Nitte campus on 20th April, 2018 which was sponsored by Zebra Technologies. The team was led by Dr. Namitha P. Kamath.
The students were explained about the importance of oral hygiene and how regular check-ups could prevent problems such as gum disease, infection, bone loss and more. The students appreciated the health tips on proper brushing techniques, flossing, ill effects of consuming tobacco, soda & aerated drinks, benefits of consuming calcium and other vitamins. The dental health talk was followed by examination of oral cavity and referrals were made to Nitte Gajria Hospital and Nitte Rural Centre for treatment. Colgate toothpaste kits were distributed on behalf of IDA Udupi district branch.
