Engineers’ Day was celebrated on 15th September,2018 to mark the 158th birth anniversary of Sir M. Visvesvaraya and to pay a heartfelt tribute to all the engineers for their valuable contribution to the society and nation.
Mr. Anil Kumar Shetty , Prop. Digital World, Udupi who is also the alumni of the institution, was the Guest of honour. In his speech he pointed out the extraordinary qualities of Sir M. Visvesvaraya and urged the students to set him as their role model and aim to be great engineers with good technical skills and strength of character.
Principal, Sri Y.N. Salian in his presidential remarks opined that Sir M. Visvesvaraya’s life should inspire and motivate all students in the technical field.
A floral tribute was paid to the portrait of Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya, by the Chief guest . All the engineering staff were honored by the Chief guest on this occasion.
Placement Officer, Mr. Raghuram Rao; Training Officer, Mr. Laxmikanth; Office Supdt., Mr. Udaya Kumar; NSS Officer, Mr. Hari H; Rover Leader, Mr. Suresh S were present on the occasion. Mr. Gururaj Bhat, JTO & Mr. Shivaram Devadiga, JTO addressed the crowd on behalf of the teachers during the function. Mr. Shivananda & Mr. Harshith, both students of MRPITI also spoke on the topic. Kum Sowmyashree of COPA welcomed the gathering and Mr. Yajnesh, Fitter Trade proposed the Vote of thanks. Mr. Ashik, MRAC Trade was the MC for the program. Mr. Vishwanath, JTO conducted a Quiz Competition for the students on the life and achievements of Sir M. Visvesvaraya.
