A program, “Tribute to Swami Vivekananda” on the 125th year of his iconic speech at Chicago, USA was jointly organised by NSS, Rover wing and Ramakrishna Mission, Mangalore on 13th March 2019 at MR Punja ITI, Tapovana, Thokur.
The Resource person, Ms. Akshatha Bajpe of Ramakrishna Mutt, Mangalore recalled the inspirational speech delivered by Swami Vivekananda at Chicago on 11th September 1893 at the World Parliament of Religions. She further urged the trainees to imbibe his values which are essential and relevant for improving the society, as India has a huge youth population.
Mr. Y.N.Salian, Principal, MR Punja ITI welcomed and introduced the guest. In his presidential address, he recalled Swami Vivekananda’s words of ‘tolerance & universal brotherhood’ and the impact of his divine power and spiritual speech, in the minds of youth across the world. Mr. Laxmikanth, Training Officer spoke on the importance of the day and recalled how Swamiji won thousands of hearts at the World Parliament of Religions at Chicago.
Mr. Sharan Acharya, student of EM trade invoked the blessings of God with his prayer song and Mr. Laxmikanth, Training Officer anchored the program and also proposed the vote of thanks. The staff, students, NSS & Rover volunteers participated in the program.
