As part of the Community Health Nursing posting, IV year B.Sc (Nursing) students organized the Nutrition Education Program on the topic “Dietary modification for Anemia” at Rizwana Manzil, Belma, Renjadi on 20th March 2019.
The program was held under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Neetha Kamath, Head, Department of Child Health Nursing and Mr. Jince V John, Lecturer, CHN. The program began with a speech on anemic Dietary modification. Later the IV year students explained and prepared a ‘One day sample menu’ for the disease condition.
The menu for anemic diet included Ragi puttu, Banana, and Chikku shake for breakfast; Pomegranate juice, 3 pieces of apple at 10 am followed by white rice 1 cup, fish fry, bitter guard curry, drumstick leaves curry, vegetable salad, fresh lime, jaggery payasam for lunch; Ragi laddu with green tea for snacks at 4 pm; whole wheat chapatti with egg curry and beetroot chutney for dinner followed by a glass of warm milk with 4 dates (khajoor) before bed.
The program was well received by the attendees who expressed their gratitude and thanked the faculty and students from NUINS for the highly educative health program.
