Onam, the annual harvest festival of the state of Kerala, was celebrated with great enthusiasm at NUCSER on 9th September, 2019. Onam marks the homecoming of King Mahabali, a legendary king, who ruled Kerala in ancient times. That period was believed to be the golden age of Kerala, people were happy, free from harm or worries and enjoyed a contented life blessed with complete harmony and prosperity.
On account of this festival, numerous activities such as pookkalam competition, sundarikku pottu kuthal, kuppiyil vellam nirakkal, kalam thalli pottikkal and tug of war was held for the staff and the students. The students arranged for Onam Sadhya, a lavish feast with homemade curries and sweet payasam on plantain leaf, for the institute and university officials.
