Commissionerate of Income tax celebrates Azadi ka amrit mahotsav at Nitte DU

Nitte Deemed to be University in association with the Commissionerate of Income Tax (Exemptions), Karnataka and Goa conducted a Quiz Competition on the theme of Freedom Struggle of India and History of Income Tax on 1st March 2022, 10.00 am at Deralakatte campus as part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. Mr. Sudheendra Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Income Tax, addressed the important issue of unsung heroes of Indian freedom struggle in his speech and said they should be remembered with reverence on this occasion. He stressed on the importance of freedom and democracy enjoyed by us today as Indians. We owe it to the supreme sacrifice of the unsung heroes of yesterday, he added.

Mr. Rudolf Rodrigues, a Chartered Accountant by profession conducted the Quiz flawlessly as the Quizmaster. Students of the constituent colleges of Nitte Deemed to be University participated in the event with great zeal. Each team comprised of three members. 15 teams from 9 institutions participated in the preliminary round. Of these, 6 teams qualified for the successive final of the quiz competition. The session included 6 buzzer rounds followed by a Pictionary round. Students of Anesthesia & Operation Theatre Technology, KSHEMA bagged the first prize and the second prize was won by Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy.
