NSS and Youth Red Cross units of NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences organized a Yoga session to celebrate the International Yoga Day on 18th June 2022. Prof. (Dr.) MS Moodithaya, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Nitte (Deemed to be university) was the Chief Guest and Yogarathna Sri. Gopalakrisna Delampady was the Guest of Honour. Prof. Dr. CS Shastry, Principal, NGSMIPS welcomed the gathering. He introduced the guests to the participants and lauded the dedication of Sri. Gopalakrisna Delampady for his continuous effort to make yoga popular among the general public. The Principal emphasized that Sri. Delampady was awarded with several state and national level honours because of his impeccable commitment to practice, teach and reach yoga to the masses. Chief Guest of the program, Prof. (Dr.) Moodithaya advised the participants to be self-starters to practice yoga and stay fit. He also asked them not to limit this practice only for one day, rather continue to practice it on daily basis. After the brief inaugural program, Sri Delampady demonstrated several yoga asanas and also guided the participants to practice few yoga asanas. During the session he explained the importance and health benefit of each asana. Sri Delampady expressed his happiness and congratulated the organizers for conducting the yoga program to celebrate International. Yoga Day. Student volunteers Ms. Deeksha V. Shetty was the master of ceremony and Mr. Abdul Fairoz proposed the vote of thanks. The Program officer of NSS and Youth Red Cross unit - Dr. Santanau Saha, members & student volunteers, teaching & non-teaching staff participated in the program. Refreshment was served to all the participants after the program.
