Dr. Jacintha Veigas discussed the various checklists used to assess the competencies, with the participants. OSCE procedure was explained. The students rehearsed various clinical procedures, using OSCE stations by peer mentoring. OSCE was conducted using 5 procedural stations, each with 5 minutes of time duration, supervised by a teacher in each station from 4th to 7th July 2022. The five stations were chosen from different nursing specialties. An exam was conducted by the trained teachers in the morning session. At the end of the session, the teachers shared their feedback with the students. 15 students who could not secure pass marks since they had not performed the “Must Do Steps” of the procedure were given Repeat Station to learn and perform again and were reassessed till they obtained the required competence.
Student feedback revealed great appreciation for organizing a program of this kind. 97 students and 2 faculty members participated in the program.
