The Medical Education Unit of K S Hegde Medical Academy conducted a White Coat ceremony for the first year MBBS students of 2022-23 batch, on 6th January 2023 at KS Hegde Auditorium, Deralakatte.
The program began with the lighting of the lamp and invocation led by Dr. Shruthi, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Pathology. Prof Dr. Jayaprakash Shetty, Vice Dean (Admn), KSHEMA welcomed the gathering. Chief guest Prof. Dr. Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice-Chancellor, Nitte DU enlightened the students about the facilities at the university and technological advances in medical education.
Prof. Dr. Shantharam Shetty, Pro-Chancellor, Nitte DU, the presiding officer stressed on the importance of the White Coat ceremony. Dr. Swathi Shetty, Professor of Anatomy & Foundation Course Coordinator, gave a brief outline of the foundation course conducted at KSHEMA.
Dr. AM Mirajkar, Vice Dean (Academics) & Dr. Sumalatha R Shetty, Medical Superintendent, K S Hegde Hospital administered the Hippocrates oath & Charak Shapath respectively, to the students. Dr. Kishan Prasad HL, Professor of Pathology & MEU Coordinator, delivered the vote of thanks. Dr. Sameeksha & Dr. Srilekha were the MCs. The program ended with the national anthem.
