The Youth Red Cross Unit of NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences organized a guest lecture by Ms. Niveditha Kamath of Swachh Mangaluru Abhiyaan, Ramakrishna Mission on "Unleash the strength within - Swami Vivekananda Way" on 12th January 2023, to celebrate the National Youth Day.
Prof (Dr) CS Shastry, Principal gave the presidential remarks and discussed Swami Vivekananda's accomplishments, citing his selfless sacrifice, persistence and resolve. He advised students to learn from Swamiji’s life and become good human beings and responsible citizens. Vice-Principal Prof (Dr) R Narayana Charyulu welcomed the guests and participants. He advised the students to concentrate on character building and participate willingly in social service activities and thereby help in building a strong nation and a great future for themselves.
Ms. Kamath, described Swamiji’s devotion to his motherland, his tireless fight against poverty and his selfless service towards the hungry & needy. She also explained several inspirational and motivational quotes of Swamiji that were intended to awaken the youth of his time, which she says are relevant even today.
The program was attended by UG & PG students, research scholars teaching & non-teaching staff. Ms. Kavya Salian, II BPharm was the master of ceremony and Ms. Shrajana, II BPharm delivered the vote of thanks.
