The spirit of patriotism and unity filled the air as Dr. NSAM Pre-University College, Managaluru celebrated India's 76th Independence Day on 15th August 2023 with great fervor and enthusiasm in the college campus. The Chief Guest was Mr. Janardhan K, a retired Indian Army officer. The celebration was a testament to the unwavering commitment of the college towards building a harmonious and caste-free India.
The celebration began with the unfurling of the national flag by Mr. Janardhan Karkera, who delivered an inspirational address. He emphasized the crucial role of the youth in shaping the nation's future and called upon students to serve their country selflessly. Mr. Karkera stressed the importance of preserving the integrity of our nation, keeping corruption at bay, and working together to create a spectacular India devoid of caste and creed.
Presiding over the function, Dr. Naveen Shetty K, Principal, Dr. NSAM PUC reminded the audience that Independence Day is not merely about wearing new clothes, uniforms, and distributing sweets but a day to honor the sacrifices of the martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation. Dr. Shetty pledged to work towards making the dreams of these brave hearts a reality. He also expressed gratitude to the soldiers who tirelessly guard our borders and the farmers who provide us with sustenance.
In recognition of his distinguished service to the nation, Mr. Janardhan was felicitated by the college, acknowledging his remarkable contributions as a retired Indian Army officer.
The students showcased their patriotism through various programs, including cultural performances and speeches that highlighted the importance of national unity and harmony.
The program was compered by Shreya, while the Student Secretary, Dishanth Shetty, extended a warm welcome to the guests. Sakshi delivered the vote of thanks. The program was coordinated by Ms. Manaswi, Chemistry Lecturer and Ms. Sandhya, Hindi Lecturer.
