The Student Innovation Club of NUCSER, in collaboration with the Institutions` Innovation Council, Nitte DU conducted the 'Pitch Innovation 2023' competition on 17th November 2023, at the NUCSER Webinar Hall. The event was aimed to stimulate creative thinking among students, and encourage them to generate innovative ideas and products.
Prof. Dr. Anu Appaiah, Rtd. Principal Scientist at CFTRI, Mysore, Dr. Anil Kumar H S, Associate Professor at the Dept. of Biotechnology, NMAMIT and Prof. Dr. G. Srinikethan, President of IIC NitteDU graced the occasion as judges. The competition featured eight innovative presentations evaluated by the judges. Ms. Sai Samanvitha was the master of ceremony and Dr. Akshath U S & Dr. Sudarshan Kini introduced the guests.
Two innovations by II BSc Biomedical Science students - 'Piscelex' (Ms. Shivangi Rai, Ms. Atyty Tep, Ms. Aiswarya Dilip Kumar and Mr. Chubamaong Lemtor) and 'Alnus Chrome Tech' (Ms. Tanya Sridhar, Ms. Priya K and Mr. Amey S Bellare) secured the 1st and 2nd prizes respectively.
Team Piscelex provided a solution to issues concerning dentin hypersensitivity using fish remnant based formulations while Team Alnus Chrome Tech pitched the preparation of Bio-ink from Microbes for printing newspapers.
Prof. Anu Appaiah shared valuable feedback and insights, emphasizing the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship.
