News from NIPT | Workshops on Pedagogical practice for Physiotherapists & techniques in cardiopulmonary physiotherapy

The Institutional Alumni Relations Cell of Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy organised two workshops on 17th & 18th April 2024 at Patanjali Yoga Hall, NIPT. The resource person was Dr. Tarpan H Shah, (alumnus 2007 batch), Associate Professor, Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy, UKA Tarsadia University, Surat, Gujarat.

Mr. Rakesh Krishna Kovela, Assoc. Professor & Alumni Cell Coordinator extended a warm welcome to the attendees.

Mr. Prasanna Kailaje, Director (Student Welfare & Alumni Relations) Nitte University, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Mr. Kailaje underscored the pivotal role of pedagogy in shaping teaching and learning experiences, advocating for more such workshops to augment academic prowess, research endeavours, and clinical outcomes within the institute and university.

Mr. Krishna Prasad, Asst. Professor NIPT delivered the vote of thanks.

The first day took off with a comprehensive workshop, wherein Dr. Tarpan Shah delved into diverse pedagogical practices, research methodologies, and advanced tools for academic exploration. Attended by faculty members and second-year postgraduates, the program served as a platform for knowledge dissemination and collaborative engagement.

On the second day, Dr. Shah explained and demonstrated over 25 techniques in the field of Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy linking their impact on the physiological process and disease progression. The students had an extensive interactive session wherein different case scenarios and their management was discussed to effectively disperse patient care.

A total of 85 participants benefited from the 2 workshops enhancing the quality and skills of the budding physiotherapists. Certificates of participation were distributed to all attendees, marking the successful culmination of the workshops filled with insights and learning.
