Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy organised a 2-day workshop on 'Clinical Application of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) Approach' on 12th & 13th April 2024 at K S Hegde Auditorium with Dr. Harpreet Singh Sachdev (PT), Senior Physiotherapist at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, as the speaker.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Dhanesh Kumar K U, Principal. The Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. M. Shantharam Shetty, Pro Chancellor, Nitte (DU) elucidated the relationship between physiotherapy and healing and its long historical connection to medicine. He commended the workshop organizers in his address, encouraging the students to embrace a skill-oriented approach and learn from exemplary educators.
The guest of honour, Dr. Ananthan R, HoD, Neurosurgery, KSHEMA explicated the importance of physiotherapy and teamwork in patient recovery, especially in patients afflicted with neurological pathologies.
Dr. Harpreet explained and demonstrated the techniques in PNF and their application on patients. He further proposed collaborations between NIPT and AIIMS for research and skill enhancement. The enthusiastic participation of students and their active engagement in clarifying doubts throughout the two-day event was notable.
Prof. Rakesh Krishna delivered the vote of thanks. The workshop had 45 participants.
