NMAM Institute of Technology observed ‘Anti-Ragging Week’ with a formal program organised on 12th August 2025 both in the institute and hostel premises, to spread awareness among students about the ill effects of ragging and to reinforce a safe and respectful campus culture.
Mr. Prasanna M S, Sub-Inspector, Karkala Rural Police Station addressed the gathering and cautioned students against indulging in ragging & substance abuse, stressing the strict legal consequences it involves. Dr. Niranjan Chiplunkar, Principal highlighted the institute’s commitment towards ensuring a ragging-free campus and encouraged students to uphold mutual respect and friendship. Dr. Nagesh Prabhu, Vice Principal spoke on the importance of fostering a healthy peer environment. Prof. Yogeesh Hegde, Director (CMD) reiterated the institute’s policies and measures in place, to curb ragging.
Dr. Vishwanath, Chief Warden, Gents Hostels welcomed the gathering and briefed about the significance of the program. The event was compered by Dr. Vishwanath J.S., Warden of Block 2, NMAMIT Gents Hostel. A total of 500 students participated in the awareness program.
