The NSS IT Wing of NMAMIT organized an outreach program titled “Shadows of AI and Web” at the Government Polytechnic, Karkala, on 29th August 2025 to raise awareness about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and highlight its impact on technology and society.
The event began with a brief introduction, followed by sessions on AI and the Dark Web and the dangers of online gambling. A demonstration was conducted on online gambling games, their consequences, data & privacy risks and safer alternatives.
Students also showcased phishing tools, enabling participants to gain a deeper understanding of real-world cyber threats.
The program concluded with an inspiring address by Sri Kumara K.M., Principal, Government Polytechnic, Karkala. The event was successfully coordinated by faculty members Dr. Shashank Shetty, Dr. Puneeth R P, Mr. Guruprasad Nayak and Ms. Ankitha Nayak.
The student organizers were Gaurav Shet, Hithesh, Prachi Shetty, Vruddith Shetty, Jesmitha K, Pratheeksha, Anand Bobba, Vedanth Mahalle and Keerthan Jogi.
