The 6th Biennial National Conference on ‘Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine: Progress in Clinical Translation’ jointly organized by Nitte University Centre for Stem Cell Research & Regenerative Medicine (NUCSReM), Departments of Orthopaedics, Dermatology, Ophthalmology & ENT, KSHEMA, AB Shetty Institute of Dental Sciences (ABSMIDS) & Nitte Institute of Allied Health Sciences was held at Avishkar Auditorium, ABSMIDS on 5th & 6th December 2025.

The conference comprised of 9 scientific sessions, 10 academic talks, 4 paper presentations by delegates, discussion of case reports and demonstrations on the multiple aspects of stem cells and cell-based therapies. Prof. (Dr) M Shantharam Shetty, Pro-Chancellor (Hospital Admn), inaugurated the conference and Prof. (Dr) Praveen Kumar Shetty, Director (R&D) delivered the welcome address. The Chief Guest, Dr. A. Ananthram Shetty, Professor Emeritus of Orthopaedics and Cell Research, Faculty of Medicine, Canterbury Christ Church University, Kent, United Kingdom was also a resource person for the session. Prof. (Dr) Veena Shetty A, I/c Principal Scientific Officer, CRL, KSHEMA and Coordinator, NUCSReM proposed the vote of thanks.

The conference saw participation of more than 175 delegates.

The Research Scholar category awards were bagged by Ms. Divya Chandran, Research Scholar, Kasturba Medical College, MAHE, Manipal (1st place) and Dr. Vani Murthy H S, PhD Scholar, KSHEMA, NitteDU (2nd place). The conference concluded with the closing remarks by Dr. Mohana Kumar B, Associate Professor, NUCSReM, KSHEMA.
